Day of the Dozers Raises $55,000 for Kids

Day of the Dozers held its seventh annual charity event on Saturday, September 28, at the ERX Motor Park in Elk River, Minnesota. The event exceeded its goal of $55,000. All proceeds went toward the Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. These funds will support Child and Family Services, the Concussion Clinic and the Day of Giving

Watch Digging Dangers 29: Good Intentions

On July 10, 2018, the town of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin changed forever. A mismarked gas main ruptured during a 5G fiberoptic cable installation which caused a massive explosion on the town’s Main Street. Fire Captain Cory Barr was killed, multiple businesses were destroyed and dozens of families lost their homes.

In the twenty-ninth edition of the Digging Dangers series, Good Intentions takes a hard-hitting look at a wide variety of accidents caused by incompetence or negligence. The second video features an extended investigation into the Sun Prairie explosion through eye witness interviews. Both serve as a critical reminder that poor practices and complacency can offset the best of intentions.

Meet vs. Normal Tickets: What You Need to Know for 2019

The safe excavation process starts by calling Gopher State One Call (GSOC) and filing one of two types of tickets: a normal ticket or a meet ticket. The normal ticket is recommended for homeowners or one-time excavation projects that only need a 48-hour notice (excluding weekends and holidays). Your ticket remains valid 14 calendar days from the start date and time stated on the ticket unless the locate markings become obscured or obliterated. You can also make separate arrangements verify or refresh the marks; in which case your ticket may be valid for up to six months from the initial start date.
